Google have announced a new Google Pack service during their keynote speech at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas tonight, offering a collection of popular free software.

The website at pack.google.com currently offers a choice of 14 software programs, ranging from Google's own Earth, Desktop, Toolbar and Talk services, to other providers software such as Adobe Reader 7 and Ad-Aware SE Personal.
Further software available in the personaliseable "pack" includes Norton AntiVirus 2005 Special Edition, GalleryPlayer, Firefox and Google Video Player - every item can be added or removed from the pack to suit the user, so you can decide to not include specific items if you'd prefer not to download them, or already have them on your system.
Software will be downloaded via the Google Updater application, and will "auto discover" updates to programs to ensure that you've got the latest version, whilst also acting as a launcher for all of the applications which have been provided by Google.
